Shrikanth says “I was born blind, and didn’t know what to do in life. I joined this place where they supported people like me to have a job, and I’ve been here for 25 years. I am married, but my wife is not well. I have no children, I take care of my wife with my earnings. I stated with Rs.300 per month now I earn Rs. 4500. I roam around alone. Some people come forward to help me but others simply ignore me. I do all the household chores by myself, from cooking and cleaning to ironing clothes. This work place has given me all the support. I polish the wooden materials, which is needed for finishing the product. Some products like the penstand and card holder take less time, some larger wooden products take 2 days. I love working here and I thank this place for everything it has given me”
